I lurve shadow priests...  and I fall into the (very comfortable) trap of not giving a dam about your DPS just keep my mana coming. 

Although on that note I think resto shamans generally offer much better mana regen. The problem with ShadowPs is the variable mana regen rates that they pump out.  Is this based on DPS, so more DPS the better returns from VT?

Yeah thats right, we get a fixed percent of mana regen from damage caused whilst VT is up.

I'm fairly sure that unless the Shammy is rotating mana tide (which I think has a 3 or 5 min cd) a decent SP with over 1000k +damage and the right rotation will eclipse the regen of a Shammy.
