Title: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Daal on August 31, 2007, 07:22:43 PM I have had many enjoyable Roleplay moments within wow, most notibly a run in with a Druid that was convinced she was a talking cat.
How about you? Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Zarx on September 10, 2007, 11:02:18 AM This would be my first post so, hi everyone!
My favourite roleplay moment would be when I was venturing through Duskwood. As me and my friend stopped for recuperating in Darkshire we were suddenly prompted with an emote similar to: [name] approaches [me] and [friend] with determined steps. This soon followed: "Haha fear me mortals! For this is your time of reckoning!" We were both partly afk so we didn't notice the character that had approached us: "Fear me! For I am the great and powerful wizard [name] that has come to destroy this world and all of you!" We couldn't control our curiousity any longer so we turned to face this supposed demonical adversary. To our astonishment the so called "great and powerful wizard" was nothing less than a gnome and a gnome rogue at that. Trying to contain my urge to burst into laughter I asked the gnome: "And why should we be afraid of you, gnome?" [pause] "Do not let this physical shape fool you mortals. I was in fact forced to leave my previous form of existence to contain my consiousness and achieve even greater power. Now, having completed this I decided to once again take upon physical form and do my evil deeds!" *mocking laughter* "How do know that you are not just in fact another visitor of the towns inn with a drunken haze clouding your judgement gnome?" [long pause] "FOOLS! I shall leave you know, but I will return and when I do all that you know will be lost" *evil laughter* After this statement the gnome rogue quite professionally used vanish as if it was in his power to disappear at will. I miss that encounter and I miss that gnome. Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Daal on September 10, 2007, 11:48:09 AM :D

Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Alexandre on September 21, 2007, 09:43:58 PM It was my first visit to Ironforge on a roleplaying realm awhile back and as I went up the weird road thingy towards the gates, there was this dwarf hunter yelling something like:
"I cannot live without you [name of pet] you were my only companion, now there is no-one in this world to comfort me!! Goodbye cruel world!" he then proceded to run and jump off the side, to die at the base of the cliff. ??? It was quite funny for me, a noob roleplayer. :D Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Logan on October 01, 2007, 09:10:26 PM This was probly the most funny thing on the game

its like that video going around, Serenity Now destroying a wow funeral. Its quite sad :'( Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Arator on August 31, 2008, 09:30:18 AM My best role playing experience would have been one of my first experiences with RP. I joined a guild called Sacred Order for paladins only and I rerolled a dwarf paladin to RP with them. We had guild meetings in game every sunday night up in the old tower in menethil and after that me and some of my friends would retire to ironforge for a beer and stories. . . . this was back when rp was still very new to me and i was still learning alot but everytime i think about it i miss it and going into the inn in ironforge always takes me back. I know this wasent a very exiting experience but i can say it has been my favorite so far. . . .
Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Tangrim on August 31, 2008, 05:41:07 PM Hm. . best roleplay moment. . . That's a tough one, I play many characters and each had their moments. .
As Tan. . Tan always stands at the same place in Stormwind, the Cathedral stairs. Long rp story, bloody boring. One time a friend walked by who was called to the Slaughtered Lamb. Tan, bored out of his skull, came along. We got there and in the basement was a duel going on between Richeron, a noble of a sort, and some chap from the Dark Embrace. While we waited we found out that a girl had been possessed and ritually killed, and her body moved. We called in a mage to help us while we searched through Duskwood. Came to that tomb in the north part, nobody there. Then I got this whisper from a strange person telling me that all my bad memories were being brought to the surface and it brought agonising pain in my head. First I went just "wtf" but since I was in character, I had Tan scream out and fall down. The other two rushed to me and tried to figure out what was happening, but since it was a mind thing they never could know. Then a second whisper probably landed in my friend, and he sank down in pain. After maybe a minute 12 people appeared out of stealth, all dressed in hoods and black clothes, all Dark Embrace people. Apparently they had been observing Tan and his ways and were convinced that he in shadow form would make a fine and powerful addition to their cause. Whoops. . a trap. And laid out to get me. I had never seen that coming, for me it was just a random roleplay thing. In the end they tried to make him succumb to the shadow side and it was a tough roleplay fight for me and my two friends to stay alive in character. Maybe after one and a half hour (!), people from other guilds came along to check up on the 'search party' and we were rescued. I got a dagger planted in my chest with a curses, so after the event I walked around for days being sickly and weak, untill someone else took the curse away. They also singed my hair and burned my skin on my left shoulder, so ever since, in character, I'm scarred. In short, it was insane heavy rp, and later on I understood it as being also a bit of a test to me, since I was a roleplayer not belonging to any roleplaying guild and as such, unknown if my roleplaying skill was high and worthy enough to be played with. It was so awesome to see all those people pop up from the darkness and that they had set this up. It lasted for about 5 hours in all, by the way ;) it was plain torture really, for my character (in more ways than one, hell! One of em gave Tan a tent because she decided to take a sexual approach. . o_0) But awesome, very awesome. As Hadravar it was his initiation into that very same guild as a spy ;) Boundless loyalty to the wench that had brought Tan to his knees. Was a lot of fun to play a character so opposite of Tan. Valryn: My paladin on the Argent Dawn. Within days of starting on that server, he had been taken under the wing of an old Silver Hand paladin who would teach him the ways of paladin-hood. Became an advisor for gnomish machinery pretty quickly, and we had an event where undead horde characters came flooding OUT of the catacombs in the Cathedral. No clue how they got there in the first place, but certainly a good memory fighting real life scourge actors as part commander in a paladin army. I was only 21 at the time too ;) Talk about interfaction world roleplay! Whoo! Kantjin: Horde mage. He again belongs to a non-roleplaying guild, but was happily accepted and brought to a roleplay event near Auberdine, organised by a Second Gurubashi guild, complete with emperor, empress, commanders, blooddrinkers, barkers, and heroes-bound-by-spirit (like wolf, rat, spider, etc) in their roles. Was somewhere in the mountains and it was a sort of ritual celebration of the Lua of life. In short it meant that we had to sit through many organised ceremonies and ritual sacrifices, and it was all-troll. Imagine a night filled with voodoo, something like that. I have good memories of the event that was called in that evening to give us all a break to get dinner, a pee, etc; storytelling. One of the official storytellers of the guild would tell us a story about a legend, or something fun, or a moral story, and then switched places with someone else. Was hilarious. In the end we ate three young blood elf females and one male, and danced while being utterly shitfaced. Nothing big, but such a thing, rituals and all, with around 75 troll players, was something worth remembering. The only time I went to disrupt a roleplay event was more of a. . well, I couldnt resist. There were two bloodelf girls cybering in an abandoned house in Orgrimmar and it was so bad that when I had recoved from laughter, I just had to storm in and sit next to them, ready for the next bit of hilarious erp. I dont think they liked seeing a big green troll grinning next to them. Oh. . and last week I raided Orgrimmar with a couple of mates, all dressed in pink or white dresses. Don't ask. /grin Sorry about the big post :P Roleplay sucker here. Title: Re: Favourite Roleplay Moment Post by: Piety on September 01, 2008, 09:13:07 AM Sounds awesome Tan - proper RP and really creative too. Some impressive co-ordination going on there. It's quite inspired me to try to come up with an RP event.
We had an amusing event where Harad wanted to filch some stuff from our guild bank for his horde alt. So, we let him do it but he had to do it with a level 1 alt and be flagged PVP. A few people from his horde guild ran escort for him. He had to run from Stormwind to the AH in Booty Bay - took quite a number of his deaths (especially in STV) but it was good fun. We have a couple of nice "back stories" on our Guild site - I especially like "Exodus" about how our guild moved from the Argent Dawn server to Steamwheedle Cartel (hence the guild name) and there are some about peoples' characters. They're on our guild site (www. argentdawnexiles. org) under "The Guild". Piety PS I can't leave this without mentioning Saturday's moment in Kara - it's not RP but if you understand Haradbrand as being cocky and self-assured, it works. . . Going up the spiral stairs to Prince I reminded people to stay to the inside of the staircase to avoid the mobs in the side rooms. Haradbrand made some derogatory comment about him being in stealth and made it past the room safely, but then as he got to the top of the stairs, he aggroed the flesh beast in the top room. He was really indignant about it and I deafened everyone on teamspeak laughing at him. /gloat |
