There are lots of discussions floating around asking people about the classes they love to play, but what about those that they dont?

Of course, the class you play and how much you like it is very situational and can be made even more so by talent build.  For example, anyone who has felt the pain of playing an out and out healing class solo either in battlegrounds or in pve will be able to relate...

Personally, the only class I have disliked so far was playing a mage solo up to about level 20.  I'm sure its more to do with my ability as a mage rather than the class itself but I hated having to stop and drink after virtually every fight.

How about you?

I think the worse/trickest class would be rogue. Mages are dead easy! as they can make there own water and food, which saves on money.

I think it can also depend on how much you group up. At the moment im playing my paladin and teaming up with a mage, and we've done most of the elite quests up to 36 - some of which i've never done before! So i guess its how and who you play with that also matters.

Shaman. No way of grinding. No real PvP (unless you're epic geared). No real PvE use. No group wants you unless your resto (which sucks).

Lucky I love the RP and lore side of them or I would have quit a long time ago lol.

Enhancement Shammy is a grinding machine!

its kinda the same with palladins and druids most want healers as there's not many priests players willing to do it.

I would have to say it's an equal tie between Rogue and Shaman for me - I've tried all classes up to at least 20 apart from those 2, where I'd got so bored I gave up by 14 and 16 respectively.

I guess they just don't suit the way I play - or they suck! ;)

the worse class i've played must be shaman. when i played it, they were defenseless against 2 mobs at once. needed to drink / eat after about every mob. and they were just boring in PvP.
and the class i dislike the most would be paladins. always hated their shields..

Haha no offense Daal but: HUNTEEEEEEEEEERS! I just don't get the class. It doesn't do any cool stuff.. and, pets? I mean come oooon. I was sold on mage the first time i tried the game. Played a human mage to 64 and a ud mage to 70 now - considering going lock now  :-X

No offence taken mate, to be brutally honest, if I hadn't played a hunter from release, I don't think I'd have rolled one as main.  I have over the years however learned to enjoy the class and once they fix the current arena issues, we'll have to find something new to complain about :)

Hunters have a few tricks, traps , etc.
Give me a mage or a lock though, far too many buttons on a hunter! (im sure its just the same as any other class!)

hunters have very few buttons compared to warlock. warlock have a lot more. hunters dont need to use many spells..

I think it depends on the talent build, as MM I didn't used many, as BM I used a few more, but as Survival, I have loads of the fookin things  :'(

as i am a priest i would have to say the worst class at times has been being a priest, why? well the pain in the :-* trying to find a quest you can do alone at lower lvls, so i had most of the time to grind rfc to lvl 20 as a holy priest which..sort of bored me got no action, but in the end once i turned shadow at lvl 22 it was all heaven :D 8D (and worth the struggle)

hhmm well i hate being agianst a rouge and i hate being a shaman. it took me 2 weeks to get it to lvl 10 cause there just a warrior-mage-priest all in one and nobody wats to have you in raids.

I would say the worst class to play is a Shaman.(my main is a shaman)

As a healing shaman, you still dont find much healing mail and many times have to rely on cloth items, which alot of guilds seem to frown on for some reason, to get good gear.   Even with these things you dont have as much mana as other classes and you have no way of getting your mana back besides a totem which does minimal in a bossfight.

As an elemental shaman you only have 3 spells to cast offensively. You have no aoe, and no real survival besides minimal protection from totems and your mail. Not to mention again your low mana pool compared to others.

As a dps shaman you rely heavily on gear and the time to put down the correct totems for each situation.  You are easily targeted due to the fact that you have no cc abilities and no ways to get out of cc.  Again, you have no survivability besides your mail and because of your 3 distinct trees you only have 2 damage abilities, and thats if you spec into them (stormstrike and shock). That coupled with how hard it is to get a group as dps or elemental make the shaman the worst class to play.


Even with all of the bad things, i still love my enhance shaman and im lucky to have the gear to support my skill.

I have a 40 ish Shammy so cant comment on endgame yet, but I will add that with 2.3, Enhancement has become a very strong levelling build - particularly Shammy Rage :)

I love my enhancement shammy. I by no means say dont roll one.  I like the challenge of taking something not so great and making it shine. Thats the biggest reason i stopped playing my mage, it was just too easy.

I wouldnt care about what people say is the worst class, i remember when pallies were garbage and shamans were the most overpowered class in the game.  Pick a class that works for you and before you know it you will learn the ins and outs of it.  Sooner or later we all get buffed/nerfed and picking a class thats overpowered now will just give you more grief later

Me personally find Rogues the easiest and most entertaining class to play.
Hunters are also dead simple and Priests I can get along with playing well enough...

But I suck at playing the shaman... I'm not good with at all with all the totems and crap and warriors are the class that I absolutely, no way- No how, understand how to play. I just cant get into the tank mode of having to change my stance and the layout of my action bar every time I change a role...

Well, my shaman was a blast to lvl. But in PVP, its hard at 70.

Resto is fine imo, get t4 items and such and you dont have to wear cloth =).

Elemental is ok for dps and so is Enhancement.

Problem is the pvp though, you will not find a lot of good enhancement shamans in top arena rankings.

I agree - I've found it really interesting following this thread and seeing how different people like/hate different classes.  My main characters are a prot (tank) warrior and a warlock (who I'm levelling for pvp at the moment - level 65).  I've tried rogues a couple of times and just couldn't stick with it... same with the shaman.

Started out with mage, who i still like a lot. Had a blast leveling shaman, who is my main.

Rogues i found boring, same as warlocks.

Now leveling a shadowpriest, liking them aswell.

I think Rogues.  They are okay in PvP, unless you know what you're doing, But in PvE They're kinda useless. . .  Much rather take a secondary healer or Hybrid.

I also have a rather bad experience with Rogues usually Ninja looting >. > Had that happen to me soooo many times.

It seems like shamen is the most popular choice for worse class.

The opinions vary drastically though but I think that all comes down to how you like to play the game.

Me personally, I like to solo and avoid PVP/instances.  Due to this prefered style my colleagues recommend I try a rogue.  The rogue class is excellent for this stlyle of play.

Im one of those who likes to finish what I start so Im doing one character at a time.  My rogue is 61 and I started a Pally to join twilight joining (although Ive bought my rogue over now as well lol).

I was a bit dubious at first but as I've stuck with it Im now at level 29 and have gotten used to the benefits (healing) and now I have plate to look forward to at 40 PLUS I've just been told you get a FREE donkey!! Save myself some gold there :-D

I think the best thing any of us can do when starting a new class is to stick with it.  You will dislike a lot of things initially but the more you play the more you will become acustomed to the class quirks and will probably even end up loving them all :-)

Before i say anything, i will like to warn everyone that this is a very biased and one-sided comment.
For me, the worst class is hunters. Not if one plays oneself, but just as a class in general. Its the easiest to play class, and with the 2.3 patch the most overpower. Its just not fair.
In PVP for me (playing rogue) the most annoying is priest. Mayb I dont use the right tactics, but i always end up spending quite some time in BG killing em off and then some bastard takes my killing blow X(
oh and this is all from the perspective of a rogue. I dont really think any class is worse than the others, the game is rather balanced

As you know one of my mains is a hunter and it's interesting to see how they are preceived.  I admit that BM spec hunters do get it easy in BG's compared to some other classes at times but they still have weaknesses, particulary against Warriors.

I do prefer playing Xaal (Spriest) in BG's and often upset the balance by being in the top 5 killers.  He's just more varied and self sufficient.

I started out with a rogue because it sounded like a cool class and until I had leveled him to 60 and started an alt I didn't realize just how much harder he was to play than other classes.   I don't group much and stick mainly to PVE because I usually don't have enough time to run a full instance, but I do like questing so I went down the combat tree to do the most damage possible.   I like to think I figured out how to play a rogue pretty well, but against an enemy close to my level I always found myself at around 1/4 health after the fight, so if I were to pull another mob on accident the only thing I could do was vanish, plus the only way to heal yourself is bandage or eat, so that makes it go pretty slow.   Since then I have leveled a druid to 61, a shadow priest to 57, a shaman to 49, and have played every other class to at least level 20 and I'm finding they are all much easier to play.   I realize that the first character you play goes slowest because you are just learning not only that class but how the game works in general, but my rogue still seems to be my most challenging character.   Now I'm not saying they're the worst class because every class has their strengths and weaknesses, and they've done a pretty good job of keeping them balanced, but rogues just seem to take the most skill and attention to play than any other class.

I agree with what you say as its the lmitations of the class to only have leather armor and no healing abilities. This makes rogues crap at fighting multiple opponents (although I can still usually take two at a time with poisons applied).

This is precisely why I went with a paladin this time cos I wanted to be able to take on the world and thus far I've suceeded. I die far less but miss the ability to vanish whent things get too hairy.

I like my duel sword weilding, combat rogue but Im slowly starting to see there is far more to this game with other classes and Im sure this theme will continue as I explore the various other classes down the line. This is what makes wow a truely amazing, massive game.

Also, something I've not tried yet is unlearning my talents. I think it would be really interesting to play my rogue as subtley rather than combat and would therefore give the character a new lease of life.

I haven't tried that either and I'm also wondering how that would help me out, a different set of talents may be just what I need, but at this point I think I'll wait until some of my alts have gotten into Outland.

Hmm well the worst class for me would have to be rogue, I just can't play them! Combat is far to quick and I just can't manage the energy thing, I gave up after level 15. 
But I have to say Paladin comes second.   This is not because they were hard to play or I thought the attacks sucked or anything, I just found them SOOOO boring to play! I found myself invincible playing them, mail armour and healing is a nice combo, but combat is like snail speed.  

I think the pally really does need some back up - was ok with a mage - even it was buck laughing all the way to 70!!! Wouldnt pick it as a main though.

Hehe Mages are fun. I find it more of a challenge to play mages. More tactical. Its also pretty cool to do q that are  meant to do at higher lvl for a mage =)

Agreed Audiophil, mages are very fun, they can bring down much higher level mobs than them sometimes quite easily compared to some other classes.    And.   .   .    I just like seeing big crits on the screen!

The worst class for me (for playing, not against) would be warrior atm. Mayb cos ive never really played beyond level 15 or so but the combat just seem dead boring (mayb it gets better at higher lvls). I dont think that the pace is fast enough, and well apart from charge there are no cool looking things that they do really. Thats why i love mages =) all the sparkly spell thingies. And its really fun strategically u have to think ur attacks through if u take on more than one mob at a time  ;) :D

I agree with audiophile.  I find warriors to be a veryboring class to play.  Im only lvl 8 so it is a very daft statement to make but i fing my Warlock main to be the best class.  Rock The DPS!!!!

Have to agree, leveling a warrior is just not fun.  Not to mention that they are  probably the most gear dependent class in the game.

BUT:  When you start tanking, you are right in the thick of things, lots of responsibility & with the right team behind you it can be a lot of fun.  I didn't think I'd ever see the day where Rim would MT Prince & stay up long enough for the team to take him down (Rims 1st go at him too), same with Nightbane. 

That feeling you get when you've played a very visible roll well enough to let your team progress is really something else.

So my advice would be, stick with it, it's a pain at the start but worth the effort.  Besides, if everyone only plays the fun classes, who you gonna blame the wipes on :-)

I HATE HUNTERS.  I absolutely hate playing against them.  I previously thought that rogues where bad but Iv changed my mind in the fact that im dead before i know what hit me first, concussion or arcane shot.  Sorry to all ofyou whom are hunters but they are now my worst enemy.   :D.  Ill have to be more careful around the BG's from now on.   :P

Worst class, i've not played all fully to see which is worst but leveling a paladin is slow and painful sometimes so i'd say paladin but at 70 it should get alot easier killing mobs

Very suprised that you've all missed the obvious. 
The worst class in the game is a Lumberjack.   I mean i grinded away killing wolves untill i got an axe, and then i can't cut down any trees with it. 
Add to that the downright lack of privacy when it comes to wearing women's clothes and the fact that another thing i can't do is press wild flowers and the whole game grinds to a halt.   I tried to go shopping on a Wednesday and there was maintenance - wtf is maintenance ?
Come on Blizzard, give me a good reason to keep playing.

i hear alot of hate for shamans.....having not played any other class i cant compare but i have really enjoyed my shaman so far. I wasnt too keen on it to start with as i went elemental but using a build that daal gave me i changed to enhamncement and its been great....Im level 46 now and find i can take down at least 2 at a time if they are up to 3 levels higfher than me. Plus i can solo against anything uo to level 50 really. I like the warrior/mage combo type thing cos it adds some variety.

But most of all i love the ridiculous amount of DPS it sometimes seems to throw out. Its pretty inconsistent but sometimes you can do stormstrike, hit with both weapons, get a crit and a windfury modfier then earth shock and that can almost kill a character of the same level as me. Im not sure if this is good but the other day i must have done bout 600/700 damage in a second or 2.

Only problem is i find i can be a bit squishy in pvp.....im reluctant to get a shield out so i charge in dual-wielding. Lack of plate doesnt help but thats life. Rogues seem to kill me religiously and i cant stop them....

So i hate rogues.

Well rogues and enchancement shammies have much in common, so it might indeed be hard to get a drop on them as as shammy.

Think in terms of bursta damage.  Rogues have low armour, low health so the moment you see a rogue, you have only one priority.  Do as much damage as you can in as little time as possible.  if there is time, HOT yourself before going into battle and then lay on the shammy fury!

If all fails laugh hysterically at them while they nuke you and hope to leave them shaken and mentally distubed at the sight of your corpse grinning back at them. . . .

There isnt really a worse class all classes have their strengths and weeknesses. So its a balance really.

I agree on the point that there's no real worst or best class in this game.  Each has downsides and upsides and it all depends on the style of the player to decide which is which.

Personally. .  I have a few pro's and con's being a holy priest against being certain classes and playing against certain classes.

For one, I can't play rogues and warlocks.  I tried, but I just can't get beyond 20 on either of these bastards.  I just don't get em! I know it's mainly dps and since I have two high mages (70 and 69,5) I'm not unfamiliar with dps, casting blah blah, pain and stuff.  But pure unadulterated snickety snip snip POOF damage, whelp! I can't control it! (doesnt take away the fact that either mage, a fire and ice, both do mental damage if they feel like it, but still) Those two classes are my bane, really.  Warriors are a third class that way, but at least with those it feels as if it'll pay off later on so I go slowly, gently and even more slowly.

Classes to hate in pvp.  Me.  Priest.  I often can't stand looking at my own ass in a battleground.  Why? Because my gear, and the fact that I'm a 70 priest without shadowform, is like being a Lighthouse with a hornsignal calling all other classes to come own my ass as quickly as possible.  Everyone knows that you have to kill healers first, and boy. . .  don't I know it.  It's great to top charts when it comes to healing, but it's painfully obvious how quickly people rush to take me out and keep me out.
As for other classes. . .  rogues.  Hate.  They can stun and kill me without me ever waking up out of that stun.  They are the class I have no chance against.  At all.  Stun, and I'm dead.  Frikkin' unfair.  I'm a free kill and there's nothing I can do about it.
Warriors. .  urgh, I hate the stuns and fear resisting.  Am also pretty useless against them.  I'm a bloke in a dress versus a tank that wears spikes for underwear.
Also. .  warlocks.  They dot me and go on.  My face melts off. .

But. .  as said before, each class has their own things.  I bet there are many classes hating me for making people hard to kill, or for my fear and all that.  I bet people hate me as a mage, since I counterspell the lot so they can't do anything, or sheep them for a moment leaving THEM helpless for a while.  :)

Well the worst class for me is definitely GCSE French. I hated it.

I have tried to level rogues. . . 6 times.  Yes - 6 times.  Never got past level 20 any of those times.  I dont get rogues, they look awesome at level 70, but getting there. . . .

Then there are locks.  I dont get those either.  Also. . . mages.  Cant figure them out.  Then there are shammies, great totems, love to party with them. . . just cant level them.  :)

Druids ftw! Paladins rule! The rest. . . I just dont get it. . . but I am glad other people do!
