Guild Guide (http://www.lancraft.co.uk/content/view/131/32/)

Sarai is an old friend with a wealth of WoW experience.  I'm sure you'll agree that this guide is a fantastic insight into the world of WoW guilds.

I've read quite a number of these guides and guidelines as to how to become a sucessfull guild leader and having a decent guild. This guide is however not only extremly well structured and compelling but also the best one I've read so far.

It saddens me that few guildleaders today actually take the time to plan their guilds and try to setup a working system within their guilds. Maybe it's a fear of portraying a iron hand-image to their fellow members or something similar? I don't know however, it really is imperative to keep a keen eye on your guild. Setup rules, keep appointments and try to make everyone feel as they are a part of the desicion making. I've been in numerous guilds and all of them were run differently than the other. Some were a complete dictorship with a fearless and ruthless powermonger at the helm - That didn't work. Others were ran by an incompetent and unexperienced leader figure who couldn't even get a say in his/her own guild.

From what I've experience it is important to have a strong leader but also an open minded one. A very effective way of achieving balance in the guilds hierarchy is with officers. These individuals should be set with different assignments to relieve the pressure of command. It is also important that these officers are loyal and can be trusted.

Sarai has definetly covered these areas aswell in the guide but I thought I'd give a little personal touch and review my experiences.

To those of you who hasn't read it yet, do it. I can almost promise you that there's at least one or two things you should want in your current guild.
