Title: Open Roleplay
Post by: Wuwu on February 17, 2008, 11:08:39 PM

Here is how it works, each person adds a paragraph to the tale but bear in mind to keep it fairly realistic heh as in contrast to the three word game we played. I shall start it off...

Rain. It always rained in Menethil. Dark eyes gazed thoughtfully beneath his hood as he gazed past the gryphons to the docks. The stale scent of ale and damp earth mingled beneath his nose as he leant against the entryway of the Inn...

It had been a long time since he has been near any towns or cities.  After looking around for anyone that might attack him, he slowly entered the inn and took a seat by the fire....

Hey Soul would it be ok if you edited the second sentence to past tense? not that I doubt your literary prowess, but it just sounds better

Months in the wilderness had stiffened his tongue. He barely managed to order a beer, and his accent was strangely gutteral, resembling that of an orc. "Well, at least no one will know that Im from Stormwind. The less traces I leave, the better" - he thought to himself as he traced the rim of his half empty mug.
BTW, could we settle for some name? Its kind of weird to just refer to him as "he"  :) then we can all modify our parts

Looking up he sees a dwarf sit in the chair near him, "'ey laddie mighty cold out t'ere aint it?" Slowley he nods with agreement.  "So what be ya name then?"  He looked to the dwarf and says "My name.....my name is......Avagon"......

Wu is the name not good enough? Or is everyone not wanting to have some fun with this story?

well it is too much LOTR (or Eragon) in my opinion but its ok =) I'll continue

Asha'al looked at the dwarf with suspicion. Although the Dwarf had looked friendly enough, it was a time when trusting anyone meant getting killed. "Well, It wasnt entirely a lie" he thought to himself. Avagon was what he called himself amongst humans, and in the last year he had used the name so often that it seemed like his own. He carefully raised his hands to his hood and made sure that his long ears were covered. All aspects of his true race had been hidden except for his long ears.
He had died (forgot how to spell that word, sry) his hair white, enchanted his eyes and face to give him the look of a night elf, and he always wore a long cloak. "That accursed undead mage! Why couldnt he fix my ears properly!" Any dwarf or human would be deceived by his appearance, but to a true Night elf, his ears would give him away before he could say "stealth". He looked around the pub for a third time, and loosened his inner tension upon discovering that there were still no Night elves in the room. The wetlands was not Elf habitat, but these days one could see an elf anywhere, even in this gloomy harbor.

"I hope that no one see's me for what I am" he said to himself. Being a spy for Silvermoon was no easy task, and he had spent the last year paying for his mistake in Stormwind. One word uttered in the ancient elven tongue, the traditional greeting amongst blood elves (ashara), and an order for his execution had been ordered. If only there had not been a Night elf at the royal reception.

Asha'al had been seconds from sticking his poisoned blade into the kings back. "Good that they lost me in the wilderness" - he thought to himself, trying in vain to shrug off that neverending feeling of being watched. "Hehe, being a rogue has its benefits"
    - So matie, how are 'yer doing? Where you from anyway? - Said the dwarf. Evidently the three mugs of Dwarven stout that he had just consumed in front of Asha'als eyes had made him overly friendly. Still, there was a twinkle of intelligence in his eyes that made the young Blood elf suspicious. Asha'al fingered his knife absent-mindedly beneath his cloak as he thought of what to say.
   - Well I be faring from the south. I am a trapper from Loch modan, earn meself a living off selling bear hides.
   - And where you be going from the harbor then? Surely yer not stayin' here in Menethil. A big load of crap this place here is, if yer askin' me.
   - Goin' north, hoping to find better fortune.

   - Well good luck with that matie, I godda go empty the tank, if yer know what Im meaning. HAHA! - And with a unsteady gait the Dwarf moved towards the exit, ran into the wall next to the door, fell, and urinated on the floor. However, nobody payed any attention; the smell was so bad already that urine could do nothing to the noses of the regular visitors of the pub.

Asha'al waited for a minute while the Dwarf exited the pub, and then followed him. It was foggy, and Asha'al was wearing a cloak that melted the Blood elf into the shadows. As the Dwarf strayed further and further away from the pub, his step was more and more light, until the Dwarf did not look drunk at all. "knew that 3 ales was not enough to make a Dwarf drunk" said Asha'al to himself.

Suddenly the Dwarf turned around. His cloak flew off, and and a gigantic mace of solid red crystal emerged out of nowhere. However, the Dwarf was too slow. Even as the Paladin thrust his mace into the air, preparing to attack, he crumpled to the ground, a shuriken half submerged inside his chest. He looked at Asha'al with eyes red from hate, and whispered hoarsely "Death to the Horde!". The effort from those final words proved fatal. He died.

"I knew it was time to leave this god forsaken place" - said Asha'al as he mounted his tiger. "this animal is swift, but nothing like a hawkstrider" thought Ashama'al to himself. Then he faded into the mist.
He was never seen in Menethil again...

"I must reach Hammerfall before day break....damn this tiger."  Asha'al knew that the Dwarven Palain would have been found by now and the alarm raised.  "I cant risk the ogres again, they might have not forgot what I did last time i passed through here" thought Asha'al.  With that thought he removed the reins of the tiger and said his good byes "Goodbye mighty tiger, you have done your job now be free." slapping the tiger's hind Asha'al pulled his hood back over his head and started his treck though the mountains to the Arathi Highlands.

I would like to keep the Avagon name as much as we can if that is ok?  Also i think some more combat could be added here, but here is some more off of me for now hope that I didnt spoil what you had in mind Wu *Offers a peace Peach*

Yeah sure I made the second name specially so we could use both. So he could say refer to himself in his head as Asha'al but use the name Avagon. =).
BTW Wu I hope that my post didnt make everything veer too off course I just get caught up in writing I find it fun =) BTW Soul did you refer to "more combat" in my post?

(*Takes the peace peach and chews happily as she cuddles both Audiophil and Soulwind tightly* You both roleplay so wonderfully I am just honoured to share the moment with you both. Thankyou x)

The tiger seemed slightly bemused yet made a point of taking his rider's hint. He would follow, a few paces behind ofcourse but would track his Master's scent. It would take more than a slap on the rump to make one of his fine breeding a deserter. Afterall, his rider was always in some sort of trouble and so Faleen kept even pace from Avalon's own and when necessary had submerged in the nasty swamp water, much to the demise of the local inhabitants. Faleen was not a fussy eater but then if he had to stomach another murloc...

Atlast, his rider had chosen the Arathi Highlands. Paws tingled with excitement as lush green grass welcomed him and claws dug deep as he sprung forward. The shadows of the rolling hills were just enough to cover him as he streaked past the lizard kin and elementals, always inhaling deep every few heartbeats for a change in his rider's direction.

when i mentioned more combat i mean in the story not in your thread, that part i liked and would not have thought of that and it allowed me to follow on with that small part about leaving the mount and following on.  Would be nice to get some RP combat. Maybe I can add it next?

"I see you Rogue" shouted the Night Elf Hunter as Avagon used his ability to stealth.  "If you move I will send my rapter after you!" Avagon looked around and couldn't see the Night Elf anywere.  Jumping backwards as an arrow hit the ground at his feet, he ran to a rock and hid.  'Damn it Asha'al your getting slow in your old age' he thought as he decided what to do.

It was then that he saw the hunter run past him, and just as he said there was the beast, a rapter.  'Hmmm' thought Asha'al 'The beast is newly tamed this could work to my advantage and if I dont deal with this Night Elf he is going to raise the alarm and I will find it harder to get to Hammerfall'

The hunter bent down to grab the arrow, and as he stood up he felt the knife at his throat.  "Well you may have seen me, but i now have you." said Avagon with these words he punches the Night Elf in the back so that he becomes stunned, and then walks in front of him and says "Well were do you want it? Shall I send you to your Moon Godess or shall I make you suffer?"

The Hunter just stood there not being able to move, but knew that Avagon hadn't noticed him send his rapter running ahead of him, and with that he signalled with small movements of his fingers to his rapter to attack Avagon.  "Well I am in a rush, so your Moon Godess will be getting another soul" as Avagon said this he charged right at the hunter and slammed his dagger into the chest of the Night elf.  They both fall to the floor and the blood from the Night Elf is pouring all over Avagon.

As the life drains from the Night Elf Avagon whispers into his ear "We the highborne will always be the greater race of the two of us"  With those last words the Night Elf was dead.  The dagger had been pushed so hard into the chest that Avagon struggled to pull it back out.  'Not another one, I really have to learn to kill them without loosing my weapons' thought Avagon.  Just as the blade released and blood spurted out of the chest, with lightening speed, and out of no where the rapter bit straight into the shoulder of Avagon.

"Damn you beast" shouted Avagon, and he started to punch the rapter in the face "Get off me.....GET OFF ME NOW!"  The more Avagon punched the rapter the deeper the rapter sunk his teeth.  'Is this the way I am going to go? No Asha'al you have more to do' thought Asha'al.  The rapter never saw the fist to the eye and would never see out of the eye again, as Avagon hit the rapter with all his strength and with that the rapter released the bite.

Avagon kneeled blood pouring from his shoulder and tried to stand, but slumped back to the ground and lost conceousness.

How was that combat for you I Know it was a bit poor, but I am not used to writing combat RP its normally stories, hope you all like it

its pretty good =) fits in with the story and is very visual  :)
Darkness consumed Asha'al, and he lay unconcious for a long time. When he finally woke up again, it was from something warm and rough. When he opened his eyes he saw his Tiger kneeling before him, licking the blood off his wound.

"He might not be the fastest mount, but I have certainly never seen one so loyal" Asha'al thought to himself. Still half-dazed, he stroked the tigers mane and lay on the chilly ground, recovering. When he felt a little bit better, he lifted himself up and slowly and painstakingly lowered into the Tigers saddle. Asha'al hugged  Faleen's mane and whispered into his ear: "Bring me somewhere safe".

As the night grew old, he struggled to stay awake but he was still weak, and the Tigers swift pace had a hypnotic rythm to it that softly settled him into sleep...

((Hehe okie dokie!x Loving the thread by the way guys!))

Faleen stopped in his tracks, the ground felt different warmer. Muzzle to the surface he felt the warmth of an overturned fire, carefully buried but to his sensitive paws the heat of the earth had still been retained. Someone other than his rider was close.

Muzzle now raised and moved in an arcing position as nostrils dilated to catch the minutest of scents. What followed was the shout of his rider's enemy, it matched the scent perfectly. Faleen was amused that the Nightelf would choose to shout before attack, even he had been trained to be silent, growling was for cubs and play.

The scent of blood delighted his senses, his Master had been victorious. Keen sight now observed from afar the beast that headed toward his rider. Paws thundered and tore up the earth in his passage as he strove to reach Avagon in time.

Lips curled back to reveal rows of pearly fangs dripping with his own moisture, in a flash his jaw had sunken into the raptor's throat as hind leg claws tore at the vulnerable underbelly. He did not feed.

Tongue removed any remnants of the foul carrion's taint as he then inhaled of his Master. He lived, he bled, he would see another dawn.

His rider awoke after a few uneventful moments, save for the crocodile that tidied up the raptor's carcass. Faleen had kept his body curled protectively around that of Avagon's to keep him warm as he tended to the wound, the only way he knew how. Lick till it stops.

Faleen could not help but rumble contentedly at the stroke. He had not aged that much afterall. He slowly rose as his rider mounted and stretched languidly, feeling the necessity of far travel upon them again. It was not his Master's words that ever spoke to him, but the tone and he understood the pitch as he would his own mate. Amber optics regarded the night thoughtfully and he made up his mind to head for the mountains. There would always be a cave, in a cave there would be meat and shelter. Paws bounded as soft as velvet and as fast as mist spreads, to their destination.

But then Faleen saw an arrow zip past his head. Faleen sped up and then looked back and saw them:forest trolls...Avgon started to rouse but as he rose up an arrow sped right above him and then hit faleen in the ear.Faleen then fell over and him and Avgon were knoked out. Then they woke up to see a small goblin. He spoke and said "I work with the ST1 of stormwind".
