6  World of Warcraft / General WoW Chat / Re: Why is Alliance so stupid in AV! (rant) on: December 24, 2007, 09:06:27 PM
Trust me, we have the same problems Hordeside. It always seems that the Alliance win, but when you step back and take a look at the overall results it's just about even. You get good matches and bad ones on both sides.
7  LanCraft / Design a Class Competition / Water Lord on: December 20, 2007, 11:21:40 PM
The Water Lord is a class which is, quite simply, more powerful when near or in water. Being a caster, their are a number of water related spells at the caster's disposal. When the caster is within 50 feet of some kind of water source (be it the sea or even a small pond) the player receives a buff, increasing damage done and reducing cast time.

The class wears cloth, and would be available to Blood Elves, Humans, Trolls, Tauren, Dranei and Gnomes.

Water Jet: 2 second cast ranged spell, dealing 600 damage to a target.
Tsunami: An AOE attack where water rains down. 800 damage over 10 seconds.
Soak: A debuff which slows the enemy movement speed and reduces armour.
From the depths: Summons a random sea creature to attack the enemy. Sometimes a weak melee turtle with high armour, sometimes a Murloc with average stats and sometimes a naga with ranged attacks.

Although the class appears to play like a mage, it is actually a lot more focussed on buffs for the party/raid and debuffs for the enemy, most of these not dealing much damage on their own. When combined with the other Water Lord attacks, the class becomes stronger.

8  LanCraft / Design a Class Competition / Spell Breaker on: December 20, 2007, 11:21:02 PM
Spell Breaker:

The spell breaker wears plate armor and is a dps melee class. The class is oriented around dps and cannot tank with its lack of stamina but high rates of dps. Skills with the spell breaker can be mainly directed for the disruption of spells from the spell casters foes. The weapons the spell breaker may use include 1h and 2h swords and maces, daggers, axes, staffs and shields. This is an anti-spellcaster unit. Some skills include:

Spell Immunity
Active skill which can be activated by the spell caster much like a permanent buff which does not persist through death. Renders this unit immune to negative spells unless the attack critically hits.

Feedback
Active skill which can be activated by the spell caster much like a permanent buff which does not persist through death. Any enemy to get into range of the spell caster slowly looses mana as a DoT attack.

Energy infused weapons
Increases attack power by 500 for 8 secs

Spell penetration
Instant cast which deals minimal damadge but interrupts casting

Spell rip
DoT attack which slows down enemy cast times by 30%

Control Magic
Give Spell Breakers the ability to take control of enemy summoned units. The spell's cost is relative to the current hit points of the target.

Spell Steal (Autocast)
Steals a positive buff from an enemy unit and applies it to a nearby friendly unit, or takes a negative buff from a friendly unit and applies it to a nearby enemy unit. This affect reverses back to its original state after the spell breaker is slain.

Magic Leech
A leech debuff attaches to a target and the next spell they cast it is instantly interrupted and any spells from that school cannot be cast for 20 secs.

Magic rift
The caster begins a cast bar spell which over time the longer the spell is charged the more powerful it becomes but in return the damage dealt is half of the health lost from the channel. The channel slowly depletes the users health as it charges. If the spell is interrupted no damage is released but the lost health is lost. If the caster moves before the charge is fully cast the amount charged is released.
9  LanCraft / Design a Class Competition / Demon hunter on: December 20, 2007, 10:44:46 PM
The Demon Hunter class specialise under two main roles which include tanking and DPS. Base traits include the use of health and mana much more like a normal class. The Demon Hunter class is unlocked by players much like the death knight quest chain and starts around about level 60 in a general thought. Weapons which are available to the Demon Hunter class include 1h swords and daggers, 1h maces, polearms, bows and guns. Most of the demon hunters attacks are used by mana but help support the melee attacks aswell depending on the spec chosen. Armor that Demon Hunter can use go up to mail. The dps side of the Demon Hunter can be put into two talent trees which include:

Slayer: The spec includes damage skills which deal more damage over a long period of time but in result deals more damage. The time to produce such high rates of dps comes at a price due to build up stackable buffs which take time to charge. Best for PvE

Extermination: Best for PvP, the Demon Hunter produces short burst attacks which can devastate an enemy in a few blows but as a negative side includes large cool downs and attacks weaken during longer combat process.

Deterrence: This spec goes under the tanking form for The Demon Hunter as skills include the dramatically high amount of stamina and armor value involved. Best for PvE tanking

Skills and spells:
Mana Burn
Sends a bolt of negative energy that burns a target enemy unit's mana. Burned mana combusts, dealing damage to the target equal to the amount of mana burned.

Engulfed Fire
Engulfs the Demon Hunter in flames, causing damage to nearby enemy land units. Drains mana until deactivated.

Evasion (Passive)
Gives the Demon Hunter a chance to avoid attacks.

Metamorphosis
Transforms the Demon Hunter into a powerful demon which grants the caster increased haste and attack power for 30 secs, 10 min cool down.

Phase shift
Allows the demon hunter to be unharmed in this state but prevents movemnt till deactivated or if 30 secs pass.

Weapon animation
Brings the users weapons to life and fight for the demon hunter until the user dies or the animated weapons do. You do not lose your weapon attack stats when doing so. Can be used in phase shift

Control demon
Controls a demon for 2 mins under the command of the demon hunter
10  LanCraft / Design a Class Competition / Reaver on: December 20, 2007, 10:39:37 PM
A Reaver is a class specialising in dealing out as much damage as possible in close range combat. Using bladed weapons, Reavers are a mix of Warriors and Rogues, using energy (although it recharges faster then a Rogue). One of the key features of this class is how fast they can use two handed weapons. They are almost comparable to the 1h weapons used by other classes.

This class would be suitable for all races except Blood Elves and Gnomes, as they are "physically challenged" :p

Reavers have two stances, Normal and Battle. Normal is, well normal :p. Battle stance is learnt at a low level and is one of the Reaver's most useful features - it increases attack power on a scale depending on health - the lower the health the higher the damage and the attack speed. It would be the first class where you would think twice about attacking them on low health Smiley.

Below certain amounts of health certain abilities are available, such as attack speed increases and damage bonuses. Below are examples of attacks:

Skull Smash: Instant blow dealing 500 damage plus weapon damage. Chance on hit to daze the target for 4 seconds.
Boiling Blood: Increases your attack speed by 50% and increases the damage you take by 20%. Lasts 15 seconds.
Into Battle: Increases movement speed by 60% for 8 seconds.
For the Horde / For the Alliance: Buff which improves attack and movement speed for the entire party.

Reavers would wear leather, with mail available past level 60. This is the reason for their low health and high damage output to compensate.
