Yes, I have a book called the "Warcraft Archive" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Warcraft-Archive-Richard-Knaak/dp/1416525823/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220262875&sr=8-1.

It includes the story of Thrall which was quite interesting when they introduced the Durnholde instance in CoT.

I would certainly like to read a bit more of the history - especially as I used to play the Warcraft PC game - right from v1.

Oh, prices!

/drool

I'm ashamed to say I've only played since Warcraft 2, but a friend of mine actually found Warcraft 1 and showed it to me. I was in total awe.

i loved the old-skool warcrafts...used to play one on my friends PC though i couldnt tell you which it was......they were much more on the command and conquer type genre though if my memory serves me right. TBH i dont really connect the two.....of course they are linked but i dont associate the original warcrafts with WoW.

As for novels i cant say ive ever seen any.....i read alot of the Warhammer 40k novels so maybe i should have a look and see if i will enjoy them....

Well, as most folks who know me will know, I've read all sorts of comics since I was a kid. 2000AD, Dredd, Sandman, Spiderman, Preacher - a few Vertigo and DC titles. And I'm still reading em all.  Cool

The graphic novel Daal linked is the first collection of the monthly warcraft comic which I've been reading since it started about a year ago now. To be fair, it's just ok - but getting better. The first few issues were mostly fanboy wet dream stuff.... "look here's Dire Maul" oh and here's a druid, they can shapeshift.... now we'll throw in some orcs and bloodelves. The storyline is starting to shape up now around the lost king of Stormwind.

I have first print editions of all the issues so far, but don't think they'll be worth much for quite some time.  Funnily enough, I got issue 10 yesterday. :-)

Yep read and got both the archive and the trilogy on the war of the ancients (first coming of the demons, sargaras, well of eternity, etc). Also in the archive is a nice read about Mediv and how he lets the orcs in along with some back story to Khadgar (mage guy in shatt next to a'dal)
