Update:

I've just come out of the comatose state that is the single player campaign of Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare. It was truley captivating which really isn't much of a surprise when talking about the Call of Duty series.

The difference between this game and the other three in the series is that it is based upon, as the title portrays, Modern Warfare instead of WWII. This of course allows for a whole new weaponry and other armaments to help you in your cause for justice and liberty.

You play as either Sgt.Paul Jackson with the U.S.M.C. on a mission similiar, yet intensified and glorified, to the Iraqi war. Your other protagonist is 'Soap' McTavish with the S.A.S, and is a part a fully trained secret ops anti terrorist led by Captain Price.

I for one almost couldn't stop playing yesterday. What I found really cool was the S.A.S time test. The test consists of a series of tasks that invovles fast and close quarter combat. You run through 6 parts of an obstacle course, on time, and neutralizing targets along the way. When you finish the game derives the suggested difficulty level you should play the campaign in. Me, being a bit stubborn,  of course ran the thing 'til I had the new record of S.A.S before actually starting to play the campaign.. but lets not talk about that! What we should talk about is the actual gameplay. Has any of you guys had the pleasure of playing it yet?

Eagerly awaits your response.

hey Zarx,

I got CoD4 the other day and have been totally sucked in by it. I agree it really is a great gaming experience.

After Wow'ing for so long it was a real shock! expecially the multiplayer games..
So you beat 19seconds on the SAS run? lol, I thought I would give it a second go to beat 26 seconds but got stuck in the door and made it in 58seconds..

anyway, look for InFlames in game, will gladly fight by your side.

Hehe, indeed it was for me too. But then the ole skills came creeping up on me. Suffice to say it took a few runs until I was satisfied.

Will do private, see you on the front lines.

@Daal: It sure is, have you tried it yet?

Zarx out.

I barely have time for WoW at the moment, nevermind another game! Smiley

Might rent it on the 360 and see how it plays.

Yes, it is indeed ninjaing.  Angry

There is already a post about this in another topic Michael, I suggest you try to have your discussions there

This topic was created to discuss new game releases, as I mention in my initial post, and not World of Warcraft - hence the topic being in the Off Topic section.

Anyway, I was meaning to ask if some of you guys have tried Richard Garriott's MMOFPS Tabula Rasa?

It seems quite interesting, I'm currently considering if it is worth paying for.

What I like most so far is the rather unique 3rd person shooter view and the detail of the graphics:

I can imagine it being quite fun to have a group of friends yelling at eachother and running around reeking havoc.

*reads everyone's gaming experience and blushes*

Oh dear...Before discovering W.o.W quite by accident..the last list of PC Games I had played were...

Dune/ Dune 2000
Heretic
Quake back in the day...

RL has a way of whisking you away at times. Now what would be nice is to buy a few arcade classics, put them in the games room by the wall opposite the pool table...*dreams away as she plays Wonderboy and DoubleDragon >.<*
