Iv always thought Command and Conquer Generals to be the best RTS game.  I didnt find C&C 3 all that interesting with the vehicle pop cap and all but Im ashamed to say Iv never played Starcraft 1 or 2.

Indeed for shame!

Oh how I've spent many a night on me ole' 56k modem playing good ole SC. Those were the days...

I've got my sights tuned in completely on Battlefield:Bad Company atm, playing it on the ps3 (goes surpisingly well with a controller) and loving it. I did however jump in sheer joy when I head of the Diablo 3 release, which is going to be epic. Anyone else making sure they get their hands on a copy of that game later on than me? I sure hope so.

Myself and Xak will get D3 I think.

Shogun Total war had some good strat. I dont think C&C is anywhere near a decent a RTS - any game where u can either just pile straight in or build the biggest and best tank/unit doesnt cut it as an RTS for me. U need limits and actually have the have some Strategy to win the game.

Wonderful, let's team up Smiley

I totally agree I can't even begin to express in words how I adore the game engine and how they've managed to get the feel of certain terrain to become endless is beyond my imagination.

@Corvus:
I have to agree with your wise words there mate, C&C never got my full attention really. I tried futally with a friend of mine who thought it was pure genious but we both (I think) ended up not playing it for that long.
