Hey,

I got cartographer from a friend but as the various patches came out it became useless.

I want to download a ligitimate version but am wary of downloading such things due to the nature of these things.

Does anyone know a tried and tested site to the mod hack free?

Thanks

Cartographer is ok providing you get it from a trusted source such as http://wow.curse.com

I would also recommend looking at Metamap (my fave) as an alternative.

If you use the "Ace2" gatherer! that will also do the trick and it has a great feature of telling you when a guildy has picked from a node too

Erm i think we are talking about the same thing if not i will shut up?!

Even better if you use Ace-addons only there's a very nifty tool that updates all of your addons for you directly from the Ace-database. Sweet huh?

You can read more about it here.

Just read this in the http://www.wowinsider.com/

We have highlighted the addon Cartographer in past AddOn Spotlights. In fact, it was even named one of the essential must-have addons that will work even for a beginner.

Now, The Khorium Toolbox has written up an in-depth, step-by-step guide to Cartographer Routes, an addon that let's you track your gathering nodes and map out a farming route that's comprehensive and efficient. While this addon was featured in a recent Insider Trader column, I believe the guide deserves its own spotlight.

As the author of AddOn Spotlight: For the Timid, I was skeptical once I saw the screenshots provided. It looked complicated, and impossible to set up. Fortunately, this guide will walk you through what to download, where to get it, and how to install it.

The guide also helps you configure the addon so that in the end, you will have a map complete with farming route to optimize your farming time. It also walks you through the mechanics of gas cloud tracking and harvesting.

This is a great guide, not only for engineers, but for any gathering profession. Even if you are weary of complicated addons that take time and know-how to set up, this guide will walk you straight through it.

What addons have you been using for your gathering and farming exploits?

I use gatherer.  You can also download a gatherer mod that uploads all the nodes of any profession onto your minimap/worldmap.  It doesnt give you a route, but anyone with common sense can look at the world map and see the best route to take.

Not only that, but when you gather a node it sends a message to your party/raid/guild members with the same addon to expand everyones map with more nodes that you might have not been aware of.  Even on top of that, it shows how many times you have gathered that node, where/who you got the node info from, and the drop percentages from that node. It really has come a long way from when i used to use it before bc lol
