Patch 2.4 Confirmed

There are lots of people complaining on the US forums about 2.4

Don't be shocked if they pull the Euro release until next week.

Am I the only one that gets pissed off with the endless patches from blizzard? The download rates for them suck and slow my laptop down if Im trying to do something else. Plus the folder size for the game is now beyond taking the piss. Plus if you ever have to do a reinstall you have to download em all again! Crazy. Whinge over.

Yes Smiley - new patch = new content and is why you pay a monthly subscription.  I think you'll apreciate this more when you hit 70.

The interim patches are annoying I guess, but a well configured firewall will help with the speed.

I think patches are pretty much a given in MMOs - and to be honest I'm with Daal... patches allow Blizzard to fix bugs, tweak numbers/abilities and improve balance - and for the bigger patches like this one, add new content.

The only thing that annoys me about patch day is the fact that I quite like using UI mods and have a number of them installed... and major patches typically break them, meaning you have to spend time going through and updating them all.

Worth it in the end though.

I love and hate patch day.  I don't mind the download.  Start it go watch a movie!!!! What I hate is when you come back on and find that the toon you love and have been spending all your time working on is now gimped beyond all recognition.  Some other toon on the otherhand **COUGH COUGH HUNTERS**** or so OP that you want to pull your hair out.

Well I stand by my original statement. It sucks ass for a pre-70 like me and this is reiterated further when last night I came to downlaod the patch and on install it demanded well over a gig of hard drive space.

Ive got a partitiioned 100 gig hard drive on my laptop, 50 gig gets filled real quick and there simply aint enough room.

So now I cant even play the game until Ive sorted out my storage issues. More money ON TOP of the monthly subscription.

My install is 10gb which includes the full test realm installs.  For the size of the game and its content I think this is pretty modest considering it doesnt run from the DVD as well.

No one's making you play Smiley
